It looks like Jeff Garcia will be the #2 quarterback this week instead of Luke McCown. And according to quarterbacks coach Greg Olson, he was #3 because of health, not because he cried during the offseason.
“He seems healthy now, and his legs look better,” Olson said. “Even he said, ‘I was watching myself in the preseason games and in the opener, and I thought, gosh, I look so slow.’ So he started concentrating on the separation from the center.”
That would make more sense to me than Jon Gruden putting him at #3 just out of spite. Of course, Garcia wasn’t available for comment, so he could completely disagree with this and say that he’s been healthy all along. It’s happened before. And if that is the case, Garcia will definitely let us know sooner rather than later.
But none of that matters now. Let’s see if this clicky thing works in production.

Is there away to make the caption when you scoll over the picture to stay longer? Well going up against Denver this weekend it will kinda hard for Greasy to screw up but should that take place I think someone should place him in a canoe tied up with a thong and a banjo and send him down the river!

I can swap the image out at any time. But Gaines seems like he’s going to stick around for a while. A cheerleader in that spot might be overkill. I want to be taken at least a little seriously.

Not to be Captain Obvious or anything, but why not make Gaines into a clicky with a cheerleader?

It’s not health, it was large amounts of rust and a mouth that kept driving him farther from the team.
Its sad, but in the end, Garcia is still probably a better chance at a playoff berth than Brian “I think my wide receivers wear blue” Griese…
