REAR ENTRIES: Broken Dreams And Arms (UPDATE: And Ribs)

PHILLIPS BROKE HIS ARM AGAIN: We don’t yet know how severe it is, but Jermaine Phillips left One Buc with his arm in a sling yesterday. And LaDainian Tomlinson is coming to town next week. Whee!!
UPDATED: Just heard that Phillips is out for rest of the season. Derrick Brooks is also “very questionable” for the San Diego game because of injured ribs according to Jon Gruden. Geno Hayes is already on IR, so we’re probably looking at Adam Hayward taking over for Brooks. Start drinking now, people. You’re going to need it.
GALLOWAY DOWNPLAYS INACTIVITY: Joey Galloway isn’t the kind of guy to make a big deal about anything, so it’s no surprise that he’s claiming that nothing extraordinary happened to warrant his deactivation.
“There’s been no blowup, there’s been no confrontation. I’m healthy. I don’t have anything else for you.”
The fact that Brian Clark was active but Galloway wasn’t kind of says it all. Of course, Galloway never would have blocked a punt because he doesn’t play on special teams. So there ya go.
BRYANT THINKS THEY PLAY SCARED: In another one of Martin Fennelly‘s shit articles, Antonio Bryant sums up the game nicely.
“Why do we have to play scared?” Bryant said. “There ain’t nothing to be afraid of.”
I’m sure he’s referring to the fact that he only got the ball once in the second half, but the statement could be used for the entire offense performance yesterday. Brian Griese played scared and Jon Gruden coached scared.
