It Was A Horsecollar

It sure looked like a horsecollar tackle on Sunday, but there was no penalty when Gerald Sensabaugh dragged Cadillac Williams down from behind. It turns out it should have been called and Sensabaugh was fined for it.
Cowboys safety Gerald Sensabaugh was fined $5,000 for his horsecollar tackle on running back Carnell Williams in the second quarter of the Bucs’ 34-21 loss to Dallas. Sensabaugh is appealing the fine.
If the fine gets overturned on appeal, the NFL is just out to hurt Williams. It should be a $50,000 fine and Sensabaugh should be clubbed in the knee with a Stillson wrench just to give him some perspective.
“That one kind of made me nervous,” Williams said. “When I saw it on film, it looked worse than I remembered.”
I wonder if he remembers that he crawled for a couple seconds before he got up to walk. That was that part that made me sweat. This poor kid isn’t going to be able to walk when he’s 40 if he keeps getting sniped like this. Joe Namath is going to look at him and say, “Damn, your knees are fucked up.”

The NFL fines a player $5K for a play that puts a player’s health in jeopardy, but fines the Jets $125K for not putting Favre on the injury list. This seems out of whack to me. Other than name brand QBs the NFL does not give a crap about players.
