Bill Belichick Makes You Feel Good

Bill Belichick gave his standard hum job to the opposing team today, and man, this was a good one. A good, slow, deep one that really makes you feel good about yourself afterwards. The kind that makes you think, huh, maybe the Bucs are the best team in the league.
“(Aqib) Talib is as good a corner as we’ve faced the year. You throw the ball around him and you’re not careful with it, he’s going to end up with it. Same thing with Tanard Jackson. If you dont do a good job on (Antonio) Bryant, Michael Clayton or (Kellen) Winslow or (Jerramy) Stevens going downt the field, they’re big targets. (Josh) Johnson is putting the ball right on the money. You’ve got to defend a great set of backs.”
Oh yeah! Don’t stop, Bill! We’re almost there!
“That’s what I see from this football team. They’re explosive, they’re dangerous. They’re great in the kicking game. They’ve got a great return game, they cover extremely well – both punts and kickoffs. (Torrie) Cox and (Maurice) Stovall and Niko (Koutouvides) and those guys are a major force, and as good a coverage team we’ve seen in our games this year. They’re really a lot of challenges for us this week and lot of things we’ll have to do a real good job on or they’ll make plays in those areas like they already have this year.”
Ahhhhh. Thanks, buddy.
But seriously, Belichick is on crack. He actually mentioned Michael Clayton and Jerramy Stevens as threats downfield? Koutouvides has three total tackles for the season. And Josh Johnson puts the ball right on the money… a little more than half the time. I think Belichick just memorized a bunch of names on the Bucs’ roster and spit them out on cue. I think the Bucs will do better than the Titans did, but to imply that the Bucs are dangerous in light of everything we’ve been witnessing this season is delusional

Why am I reminded of Mom from Futurama? Do you think he goes back to the locker room, lights up a cigarette, slaps Tom Brady and laughs his ass off?
Scott, for fun, you should write up the speech Morris is going to give the Bucs to convince them that they can at least lose with dignity!

You think Bill would agree to cover the Bucs beat part time for either the Times or another paper? Seriously, I think he mentioned the most positive stuff I’ve read all year. I could get down with reading the “Belichick Breakdown”. Or whatever catchy name he chooses.

Maybe instead of “Throwback” uniforms, we should wear “Throw across the stadium” unis. In other words, we should Patriot uniforms that we stole from them. Then, they’ll be forced to wear the Buc unis we left in their lockers. When they wax us 35-7 or whatever, hopefully the press and the stats guys get so confused, we get a win!
