REAR ENTRIES: Night Shift

Keaton moves in for the big kiss.
TRUEBLOOD PREACHES CONTROLLED INTENSITY: Jeremy Trueblood was interviewed after practice today about his continued drive-killing fouls. After he choked the offending reporter to death and used his corpse to wipe his freshly-showered feet, Trueblood addressed the situation.

“I know that wasn’t a smart move on my part,” Trueblood said. “And I just have to go out there and played with controlled intensity…..

“You have to be like that. Unfortunately, two times in the last two games it’s happened. But we’ve played 12 games. Not to say that’s all right, but you just got to (play with controlled intensity). It’s just part of the game. If it doesn’t happen, then it’s hurting your team. I want to be accountable to all my teammates. I expect them to be there for me, so I’ll be there for them.”

When is Trueblood just going to come out and admit that he’s a loose cannon and a lunatic and he doesn’t give a shit who knows? “I’ll try to keep it under control, but sometimes you just gotta try to kill a motherfucker.” I’d respect that so much more than him continuing to preach the company line at practice and then racking up 30 or 40 yards of penalties in the game.

Raheem Morris bears some responsibility for this as well. To this day, he continues to extol the benefits of being a “violent” team. In his weekly radio show this past Monday, Morris referred to Greg White as an “animal” three times. He wants them to be violent, but then be able to switch it off immediately when the whistle blows like their turning off a light. That’s the thing about violence. It’s often uncontrollable.

SANCHIZE TO SIT: Kellen Clemens will start for the Jets against the Bucs in place of Mark Sanchez. No word on if Sanchez will be inactive or will just be the backup. A few weeks ago I would have said this is a good thing and had hope for the Bucs to pull a few interceptions and sacks as a result. But they just lost to a Matt Moore-led team, so whatever.

But just to stoke the optimism a little, Clemens has attempted three passes so far this year and been sacked three times. He’s also been forced to scramble a bunch and fumbled the ball once. This may be an offensive line and quarterback that the Bucs defensive line can push around.

AQIB TALIB PRACTICING AGAIN: So were Michael Bennett and Roy Miller, and all of it is good news. Michael Clayton was hoping to practice, but he couldn’t. And the good news continues.

SCHEDULE CHANGE: Starting tomorrow, posts on this site probably won’t start until the late morning or early afternoon through the end of the year. I should still be able to get in the same amount of posts, just later. Home stuff, vacation, filling in for other people… you know how it goes. If anyone out there wants to take a morning shift or two and post their own stories, leave a comment or send me an email. No pay, but you’ll get full credit and the story will be archived for as long as this site goes on, so whenever you’re trolling for bar skanks at 2:00AM, you can tell them you’re a published author and it will be true. That or show them your tribal arm tattoo. That’s almost as impressive as being a blogger, right?

Okay – so does that mean we have the chance to set some sort of NFL record for losing to three consecutive backup QBs? Ouch.

i have to own up to being a casual Jets fan, how dare i, i know. Anyway Kellen Clemens, stealing a line from Scott, sucks mountains of donkey dick. If the Bucs can’t win this weekend (and they probably wont because the Jets still have the #1 ranked rushing offense) Raheem should be taken behind the woodshed.

Wait till you guys see how scared he is in the pocket. I wouldnt be surprised to see him hand it off the first three plays of the game. It was a godsend the Jets didnt hand the game back to the Bills last Thursday once Sanchez went out.

Their line is the complete opposite of ours. They can run block for days, but their pass protection tends to break down early.

The bad news is their defense is fairly stout defending the pass… Should be a competitive game.
