Matt Bryant Knew What He Was Doing

In last week's game summary, I questioned why Matt Bryant didn't use the same strategy on the second onside kick that he used so successfully on the first. I guess I wasn't the only one, because he answered.

'It's almost the same idea behind a wishbone offense,' he said. 'You approach it like you have a triple option, depending on how the other team lines up. On the second kick, they gave us a different look than the first one and Torrie [Cox] ended up being only a few steps away."

So he changed it based on where everyone was lined up. It's things like this that explain why he has his very own holiday in Tampa.

Bryant had never been taken for a ride like that before, so he never knew it is required that someone's hand is up your ass at all times.
