Simeon Has Regrets

Sometimes when a player isn't getting along well with his team or in his town, all he needs is a change of scenery to get his head back on straight and start producing.

And then there are others...

Frustrated by his inability to convince the Broncos he's healthy, and seemingly destined to take another weekend off, defensive end Simeon Rice said Thursday he currently is regretting joining the team as a free agent.

"I'm really just trying to lock myself in and just make it through the year because I have no idea why I've been brought here - at all," he said.

And there are no plans to seek out [Mike] Shanahan to clear the air because Rice stated he already has spoken his peace and told the club he's ready to contribute.

"I ain't going to nobody. I've already conversated," he said.

I ended last week with a Simeon Rice post and thought this might be piling on a little. But you know what? It's not getting old. It feels just as good to be done with him this week as it did last week. I know I was against his release in July, but I really was thinking more of the production aspect of it than his overall attitude, which probably would have rubbed off on the young guys on the defensive line by now and poisoned them to the point that they would never reach their potential. In retrospect, it looks like a pretty smart move.

How were we supposed to know he was a diva?

The Broncos could use all of the help they could get. This is a mistake.
