Bucs Take Another Dexter Jackson

Bucs take Dexter Jackson from Appalachian State with their second rounder. Awesome, awesome pick. Explosive speed, tough, and has return ability, He doesn't have the same hands and consistency as DeSean Jackson, but he is a hard-worker. I'm not sure what his total upside is because of the level of competition he played against in college. I'm also a little concerned about his size, just like I was with DeSean. He played the spread in college and didn't face the same kind of bump-and-run and press coverage that he will in the pros. But he is a legitimate deep threat to take over for Joey Galloway once greybeard finally hangs it up and a guy who can return both kickoffs and punts.

The last time the Bucs drafted a Dexter Jackson, he was a Super Bowl MVP.

This pick makes me happy. I think this guy has speed and talent and can stretch the field. I was afraid that Gruden is only interested in large, slower "possession" guys, aka west coast guys. Jackson could to a lot to open up running lanes and the underneath!!

Great speed, quick moves. Anyone who destroys overrated small 10 teams is a plus. Notice how Manningham, Doucet, are not picked yet? Redskins stocking up on offense. Wish Carolina would have offered us that trade though. Now, backups at DT, OT, C, QB (can we get rid of Grads finally). What about Dixon from Oregon and maybe Marcus Monk as another WR?

So much for the draft "experts" and their mock drafts. Kirwan got 5 right out of 30, Carucci got 4, Rivals got 3 and PFT got 1. The best was Mayock, who got 11 right but kept talking on tv like he was perfect all day. I'd get fired if I did my job right only 11 times out of every 30 tries.
