Here's a brief list of what happened at the OTA yesterday. Since it's voluntary and pretty loose, there's not all that much to report. Here's a list of players who didn't show up and the reason/excuse they had.
- Brian Griese: Charity function
- Earnest Graham: Making a point
- Chris Simms: WAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!
- Phillip Buchanon: Harvard School of Business seminar
- Will Allen: Harvard School of Business seminar
- Ike Hilliard: Unknown
Perhaps the most surprising attendee was Joey Galloway, who prefers to work out in Ohio and generally gets preferential treatment when it comes to this kind of stuff. He even caught some passes.
Cadillac Williams pulled the sled and seemed to have some power in his legs, but he's a long way from being able to take the field.
Arron Sears took some snaps at center.
Matt McCoy hurt his hand and left practice early.
Quincy Black and Ryan Nece were there, but didn't do anything. They were in street clothes.
Gaines Adams has added some weight.
Jovan Haye showed up and had a positive attitude despite not having a contract worked out yet. "Everything's cool,"Haye said. "I'm just playing football and enjoying life right now." What puzzles me is that Haye technically isn't under contract. He's been tendered, but hasn't signed. How is he allowed to participate?
Tanard Jackson is still apparently in good shape. He picked off a pass intended for Michael Clayton. Clayton reportedly juggled it and Jackson was in position to make the grab.
And I will mention that new cornerback Eugene Wilson showed up because this was the only photo from yesterday's practice that I could find anywhere. It comes from this article where Wilson doesn't say much that isn't already common knowledge, but you get the feeling that he's going to be highly competitive and energetic. He also says "Oh man" a lot.
