I don’t even know where to start.

I cannot believe that pushing an offensive player, who is running a route, out of bounds is OK just because the quarterback is out of the pocket is in the rulebook. Oh yeah, and the fact that they actually called it makes it that much more ridiculous.

At some point, the ref needs to just be like “that’s a shitty rule that nobody knows about and I’m not going to let it ruin this game.”

Mistakes are turning wins into losses and today was a total clusterfuck of mistakes! Unbelievably, they were still in it to the end — again (do you see the pattern here?). The Saints SUCK and the Bucs gave them an early Christmas present.

I’m giving them to mid-season to clean this shit up before the true bitching begins.

Ryvers (October 21, 2012 at 05:52pm:

Tough loss, but the Bucs are looking better. The offense is beginning to score points and the play calling is, in general, improving, although that 1 set of goal line calls was horrific. The run D is respectable, the pass D not so much. Still a #1 corner, a Safety (sorry Rhonde) and a healthy DeQuan Bowers away from first team respectability.

BaldBuc4055 (October 21, 2012 at 07:38pm:

First off, the rule is fucking stupid and it should be looked at in the offseason by the competition committee, but a rule is still a rule. We got caught.

My big beef with today’s game was the Saints’ goal-line stand, not the play before it. That has got to be the first time in NFL history that a wide receiver had a 95-yard reception not end up as a TD. I initially put a lot of blame on VJax for not getting in the end zone, but now that I’ve had a couple of hours to cool off and think about it, I don’t put it on him. I think most people would be tired after hauling ass for 95 yards.

My issue is the play-calling on first and goal. They’ve hardly used Blount this year. Doug Martin was having a hell of a day. Blount is known for not being a very good short-yardage runner. SO WHY IN THE FUCKING HELL WOULD YOU GIVE IT TO BLOUNT ON THREE STRAIGHT PLAYS????!!!! I wanted to throw my shoes at the TV!!!

There, I got it out of my system, and I feel a little better. But not much. This was a tough one to swallow. I thought the Washington loss sucked, but this one was way worse.

TheDukeMan70 (October 21, 2012 at 10:35pm:

i already bitched enough today. The rule is dumb, but it happened. We also didnt do our part…weather it was 2 missed FGs, or VJax seemingly not giving 100% on that 95 Yd catch, or, you know…our D giving up 300 Yds and 4Td in the first half. We have to play better all around.

ammo10 (October 22, 2012 at 12:09am:

Why, oh why in the fuck would you continue to rush only 3 to put pressure on Brees??? He had all day to throw and pick apart our secondary. Another thing is how in the hell with us dropping 8 were there so many wide open receivers?! Lance Moore-wide open! Marques Colston-wide open! Everybody on the fucking team-wide open! That last part was rhetorical. Equipment manager to Brees after the game “I’ll take your jersey Mr. Brees” “No need, it’s cleaner than before the game started, I’ll keep it for next week”

HAGEN205 (October 22, 2012 at 12:40am:

lets all just calm down this was a good game freeman looked fucking great vjax broke records yes we lost but at the beginning of the year did anyone actually think we were super bowl bound all i want this year is to be not the laughing stock of the nfl like last year im going to the vikings game and i think we got them next week then we go to oaakland i see us going 4-4 after that though well theres always next year right???? lol

gatorbait (October 22, 2012 at 10:27am:

“Disconcerting calls”– that phrase will forever haunt my dreams. Maybe I’m a little oversensitive because the Gators were called on a dreaded “roughing the snapper” penalty on Saturday, but it seemed like these referees spent a little extra time scouring the more esoteric reaches of the rule book.

avanderlay (October 22, 2012 at 12:32pm:

the last play overshadows what I felt was even a more BS call – the “disconcerting” kick defense. The refs basically handed NO 4 points there. Between that and the goal-line debacle, they never should have been in the position of needing to tie the score. I know it’s a cliche, but this team could easily be 4-2 with just a couple different “bounces of the ball.” HOORAY competitiveness!

P.S. Sweet mercy could we use some corners. Eli & Brees have certainly proved that very quickly.

That might not work.

I just have the Dennis Green meltdown on loop.

rudyg111 (October 22, 2012 at 06:34pm:

My question is Why didn’t Freeman or Blount attempt to DIVE OVER THE PILE? Fake hand off and Dive? Bootleg or I formation to spread out the D? WHY isn’t freeman RUNNING anymore? I love to watch Freeman Run because it keeps the D on their toes… and Also I think they need to Rename Their Passing Play call/ Audible to something Other than “DELTA! DELTA!” I think All Defenses Know what that is! Why is an awesome tight end like Dallas Clark even on the roster if He isn’t gonna be utilized?

jampersands (October 22, 2012 at 10:39pm:

I’ve been thinking about who the Bucs take in the first round of this upcoming draft. After today, I’m thinking it’s gotta be a corner.

Holy cow, Blount is terrible in short yardage.

Hit the fucking Goddamn hole, man. Why didn’t we, at least once, give it to Martin?
