Kelly Campbell Released Under The Radar

November 06, 2009 at 02:37pm by Scott   •  19 Comments »

Injury settlements make Campbell happy.
Here’s a weird one. Kelly Campbell has been suspended from the Edmonton Eskimos for failing to show up to team facilities on Tuesday after signing a contract to return to the CFL.

Campbell was recently released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League.

But, see, that’s the weird part. According to the Buccaneers’ official roster, Campbell is still on injured reserve and property of the team. I seriously doubt the Bucs would continue to pay Campbell while allowing him to put himself at risk playing professional football in Canada. Remember when Ricky Williams was suspended and he wanted to play in Canada? That was a huge deal, and involved the Dolphins getting in on the negotiations between Williams and the Argonauts.

The only thing I can figure is that the Buccaneers released Campbell with an injury settlement, didn’t notify the media and has neglected to update that portion of their web site. At least that’s what the Edmonton Sun is implying:

An unfortunate leg injury kept him on the injured-reserve list until his release last week.

So, you heard it here first. BREAKING NEWS! Kelly Campbell has been released. Wait, is that my phone ringing? Probably ESPN wanting to pay me for this story. I’m in the big leagues now, baby.

The Bucs should pay you to update their site because you consistently find them with their pants down…

As per Campbell… scab…

So who has the Flu?

I do. I’m fucking dying over here.

H1N1 or the normal flu?

Didn’t we try to tell you to stay away from Joe’s mom.

@TheBrainStem He stayed away from Slow_Joe’s mom but hooked up with my mom. My mom has more diseases than the monkey from Outbreak. Sorry Scott. Should have warned you…

@prof_joe: Don’t you dare insult my mom! My mom has WAY more diseases than yours.

I started getting worried about Scott’s mom’s snatch, so I started using that new Trojan that claims “it’s like nothing’s there”. Unfortunately, Scott’s mom concurred.

And a few hours later, Campbell is removed. I need to check my logs for traffic coming from One Buc because if it’s there, they must have a staffer specifically charged with constantly combing the blogs.

@Brain: Don’t know which. If I don’t get better in a couple days, I’ll get checked out and find out. Joe’s mom isn’t the culprit. She’s beyond the point of diseases. Nothing can survive in that battered box. It’s like sticking your dick in a large vat of liquid nitrogen, only not as smooth.

What a fucking joke, in order to score a touchdown the ball has to break the plane, but in order to get a safety the QB’s feet, his fucking FEET, have to be in the endzone? The rest of his lanky ass body is in the endzone (ball included) yet that’s not a sack? Fuck me…

By the way, Freeman looks like a real QB back there.. Just sayin’

Hell Yeah!!! Every facet of the game showed up today. Defense looked like a throwback to the Sapp days, Special Teams set up the offense beautifully on more than one occasion, AND although Freeman struggled at times he LOOKED LIKE A REAL QB!

What a victory!

Thank god, we won’t go 0-16!!!

We bitched about Freeman when they drafted him, but he just might be the real deal — at least he was today.

Oh and yea, that saftey non-call was bullshit.

I’m thinking in the second half we’ll get a few more wins. And we’ll probably see the throwbacks a few more times in the next few years. If we’re not in the playoffs I’d rather be a few picks back so we can get Suh and some team can waste money on Sam Bradford.

Freeman did good. Made some rookie mistakes, but overall showed a lot of promise. I’m excited about his future.

By the way, I love the fucking throwbacks. I never much cared for Bucco Bruce, but I loved the old colors. They should do like the Chargers and wear them at least twice a year.

I should have said “Freeman did WELL”, but in my defense, I AM drunk. Had a show tonight, which is why I didn’t make the Bucs game.
